Felix & Fido: Ellyse Bacelic-Grgic

I graduated from St. Claire College with a Veterinary Technology diploma in 2008. I have worked in hospitals ranging from specialty to general practice, emergency, and shelter. I love what I do and have been lucky to build my skill set across various areas of medicine. I began locumming (similar to a travel nurse in human medicine) in 2013. I fell in love with the constant learning opportunities and experiences working alongside so many incredible doctors and outstanding teams. Whether working on the chaotic floor of Emerge or the busy schedule in GP, I seem to have a never-ending supply of positivity and energy. My favourite aspect of veterinary medicine is nursing care. When we have a really intense case come into the hospital and, through a collaborative team effort, we stabilize, improve, and then get to watch our patient go home, it is one of the best feelings in the world. That is one of the reasons I love offering nursing care at home. We all know care doesn't end once you leave the hospital.
