How we vet every professional

We look for a real person or business

We review the provider’s name, website, contact information, services, and other available information to make sure the listing represents a legitimate professional, organization, or business.

We also look for consistency between what a provider tells us and how their business or professional practice is represented elsewhere.

Listings need a photo or business logo before they are approved.

Veterinary services require veterinary credentials

Some services can only legally be performed by licensed veterinary professionals.

When a listing offers veterinary services such as euthanasia, we check the applicable veterinary license before marking that license as verified.

When Love, Baxter has independently confirmed a license, the profile may display a License Verified mark.

Some listings joined Love, Baxter before this verification process was introduced. We’re reviewing those listings as part of our ongoing verification work.

We review professional credentials

Providers may tell us about relevant licenses, certifications, training, and professional designations.

When an issuing organization provides a public registry or another reliable way to confirm a credential, we may cross-check it.

We only describe a specific credential as verified when Love, Baxter has independently confirmed it.

Services should match the provider

Every listing has a primary provider type describing what that person, organization, or business actually is.

The services listed on the profile should be services they genuinely provide.

If something appears inaccurate, misleading, or inconsistent, we may ask for more information, make a correction, or remove the service from the listing.

Reviews are moderated

Reviews submitted through Love, Baxter are reviewed before publication.

We may reject or remove reviews that violate our Review Guidelines, including fraudulent, abusive, manipulated, or conflicted reviews.

Providers cannot buy reviews, review themselves, or offer incentives in exchange for a review or a particular rating.

You can report something that doesn’t look right

Every profile gives you a way to report a concern.

We review reports and may contact the provider, request additional information, or temporarily hide a listing while investigating a serious concern.

If you ever see something that doesn’t feel right, we want to know about it.

Providers agree to our standards

Professionals in the directory agree to our Vendor Terms.

Those terms require accurate information, appropriate licenses and credentials, responsible use of family information, and honest and respectful conduct.

Listings that don’t meet those standards may be corrected, hidden, suspended, or removed.

Free search results aren’t for sale

Providers cannot pay us to secretly move themselves above everyone else in our free organic results.

Our search system may consider factors such as location, relevance, services, profile completeness, reviews, verification, and other quality and usability signals.

If we offer sponsored or paid placements, we’ll identify them as such.

What does “verified” mean?

We want this word to mean something.

When Love, Baxter says that a particular license or credential is verified, it means we independently checked that information using a reasonably reliable source available to us at the time.

It does not mean that we’ve personally evaluated the provider’s work or that we’re guaranteeing the services they provide.

Credentials can also expire, change, or be affected after we’ve checked them. When licensing is especially important to your decision, you should confirm its current status with the appropriate licensing authority.

What our vetting does and does not mean

Our review process is designed to make the Love, Baxter Directory more trustworthy and useful.

It means we’ve taken reasonable steps to determine that there is a real professional, organization, or business behind a listing and that the information presented to families appears credible.

But Love, Baxter is a directory, not the provider.

We don’t employ or supervise listed professionals. We don’t provide their care, set their prices, make medical decisions, or control what happens between a family and a provider.

A listing or verification mark isn’t a guarantee, endorsement, or promise about a provider’s quality, availability, services, or outcomes.

Information can also change after we review it. We encourage you to confirm important details directly with a provider, including current availability, pricing, services, and credentials.

If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary hospital directly rather than relying on the directory.
