After 35 years as a veterinarian, founding and running Banded Peak Veterinary Hospital for 24 years, and being part of more than 4,500 goodbyes, I've learned that some of the hardest decisions we make for our animals have very little to do with medicine alone.
Through HUMM, I help people navigate the difficult decisions that come with caring for an ageing, seriously ill or declining animal. When is it time to consider euthanasia? Is another treatment or surgery worthwhile? How do you assess quality of life? And how do you prepare for a good goodbye?
My work combines practical veterinary knowledge with the understanding that you know your animal in ways no medical record ever can.
Through educational resources, guided roadmaps and individual Decision Consults, I help people understand their options, ask better questions and make decisions they can live with.
Because loving an animal means more than doing everything possible. It means understanding what is best for them.
