Innovative Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Sarah Ervin is a third-generation Savannahian who grew up about a mile away from IVM. Dr. Ervin’s family started seeing Dr. Schoettle with their family greyhound when she was in 4th grade. She has always had a special interest and love for animals that led her to start shadowing Dr. Schoettle when he first opened IVM. Through high school and during breaks from college, Dr. Ervin would work with Dr. Schoettle and his staff to gain as much experience and knowledge as she could. You may have even seen her around the clinic!

After graduating vet school from the University of Georgia in 2018, Dr. Ervin worked at a rescue clinic in Augusta, GA where she was able to expand her knowledge and surgical skills. She then worked in corporate veterinary medicine until IVM called her back. She is absolutely thrilled to have come full circle and to finally be able to call Innovative Veterinary Medicine her home.

​Dr. Ervin specializes in soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and hospice care. She was educated in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and veterinary acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Reddick, FL in 2019 so that she can implement these modalities for her patients.

When Dr. Ervin isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends - especially her husband, Chris; her son, Finn; her two Staffordshire terriers, Burt Macklin and Ralphie; and her two cats Asha and Gouda. She also loves cheering on her National Championship Bulldogs!
