About Vic Wilson-Crane - Pet Loss Support Group Facilitator
âI work with people who are grieving the loss of a beloved animal companionâa kind of grief that is often deeply felt, yet still misunderstood or minimised.â
I work with people who are grieving the loss of a beloved animal companion, a kind of grief that is often deeply felt, yet still misunderstood or minimised. My work is grounded in the belief that love for a pet is real, enduring, and worthy of compassion, care, and space.
My commitment to this work comes from seeing how frequently pet owners feel silenced or unsupported in their grief. Too often, people are told to 'move on' or 'replace the loss' thereby minimising their feelings or they're told to grieve quietly or alone because the relationship âwas only a pet.â I know how damaging that dismissal can be, and how lonely grief becomes when it isnât recognised.
Through my work in grief education and support, I help people make sense of their loss, honour their bond, and navigate the complex emotions that follow bereavement. I focus on validating pet loss as legitimate grief, supporting those who feel isolated in it, and offering gentle, practical ways to live alongside loss without having to let go of love.
My role is not to fix grief or rush healing, but to walk alongside people with empathy, language, and careâcreating space for remembrance, meaning, and compassion at a time when they are most needed.
