About Claire Chew Coaching and Consulting (Pet Loss, Anticipatory Loss)

I help veterinary professionals, organizations, & pet parents process the emotional toll of caregiving & loss BEFORE it becomes unmanageable. If you're already there, I can help with that too.

What if you could prepare for pet loss before it wrecks you? Or vet teams didn’t have to break under compassion fatigue?

For 15 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of grief, loss, burnout, & emotional sustainability. I help veterinary professionals, organizations, & pet parents process the emotional toll of caregiving & loss BEFORE it becomes unmanageable. If you're already there, I can help with that too.

— Why I Do This Work —

Pets aren’t disposable. They’re our sacred companions. Yet, the people who care for them the most — at home & in clinics — are often left emotionally unprepared & unsupported.

I’ve lived with the weight of grief myself. From chronic illness, infertility, & beating cancer to the devastating losses of both my mother by suicide & my heart dog, Sophie.

That pain taught me something that most systems forget: grief doesn’t just crave comfort. It needs tools, space, & systems to hold it.

— How I Help —

I specialize in preventing grief & burnout from becoming a crisis. My trauma-informed, emotionally intelligent approach provides support for pet parents & veterinary professionals through:

• Grief coaching & emotional support for pre- & post-pet loss

• Compassion fatigue prevention & resilience training for vet teams

• Somatic healing & nervous system regulation to manage chronic stress

• Systemic change consulting for veterinary clinics

• Grounded, honest support — not just “feel-good” phrases or forced positivity

— What I Offer —

Support for both veterinary professionals & pet parents through direct services, programs, & consulting:

• 1:1 grief support sessions

• “Promises to My Pet” — a guided planning tool for end-of-life clarity

• “Untangling the Love” — an emotional clarity process for navigating loss

• Self-paced courses & group coaching

• Trainings & lunch-&-learns made for veterinary clinics

• Resources for comfort rooms & client education

• Messaging support to help hospitals connect with grieving clients

• Speaking & consulting on grief, emotional sustainability, & burnout prevention

— Who I Work With —

• Veterinary professionals (practice owners, team leads, techs, CSRs)

• Pet parents struggling with anticipatory grief, euthanasia, or complicated loss

• Organizations & thought leaders ready to shift how they handle emotional labor, grief, & burnout

If you’re navigating pet loss, end-of-life care, or leading a veterinary team that feels overwhelmed — I’m here to help.

Let’s make space for grief before it becomes a breaking point.
