About The Pet Parent Therapist
“Therapy with me is grounded in the human-animal bond.”
I'm a pet parent myself, and my own experiences led me to leave a 15-year career as a lawyer and build the kind of support I wish I'd had.
I've lived through the nightmare that is a sudden-onset life-threatening illness in a pet - when your world shrinks to ICU visits, treatment decisions, and waiting for the next update. I've felt the chronic low hum of grief that can come with watching my dog age and decline, long before any loss. I’ve navigated the waves of grief that come with triggers such as cancelling pet insurance or receiving a licence renewal notice months after they've died. And I've known the everyday anxieties that so often come with loving an animal.
Those experiences changed the course of my career and continue to shape the way I work today. Grounded in an understanding of the human-animal bond, my approach helps people make sense of their experiences and navigate the uncertainty, grief, anxiety, and difficult decisions that can accompany loving and caring for animals.
