About Happy Earth Pet Hospice
“Practice makes Permanent.”
I’m the founder of Happy Earth Pet Hospice, where I offer integrative, mobile hospice and end-of-life care for dogs and cats in Virginia and North Carolina. But more than that, I’m someone who truly believes that this stage of life is sacred; not because of how it ends, but because of the depth, connection, and meaning it holds.
I’ve been a veterinarian for over 15 years, and my career has taken many forms, from general practice to advanced pain management, but everything changed for me in 2015. I had the opportunity to accompany a house call veterinarian on a hospice visit, and I remember being struck by the deep sense of peace that filled the space. The comfort. The presence. The way the pet was surrounded by love and familiarity. I left that visit knowing that this was my calling.
Since then, I’ve devoted my professional life to caring for pets and families during this uniquely meaningful season.
While most hospice veterinarians focus solely on palliative medications and comfort measures, I felt pulled to explore more holistic and sustainable ways to help pets feel better and stay well for as long as possible. That’s when I began studying Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), and everything just clicked.
Today, I’m certified in: Acupuncture, Herbal medicine, Tui-na and Food Therapy. I am also certified as a TCVM practitioner through Chi University.
I’m also currently earning my Master’s in TCVM through Chi University, expanding the ways I can support pets from the inside out. These therapies often bring lasting, gentle relief, especially for aging pets or those with chronic illness, and allow us to create a deeply individualized care plan that meets your pet exactly where they are.
My approach is always integrative: I believe in using the best of both Western and Eastern medicine to support quality of life, comfort, mobility, and peace of mind.

Recently we sought the help of Dr Jnet with Happy Earth when our cat needed to be euthanized….we were met with such tenderness and compassion….she made such a painful time a time of serenity and comfort, for both our cat and us….hers is a most difficult ministry, and she fulfills her mission with intense sensitivity, kindness, and sincerity….we are forever grateful….and recommend her and Happy Earth to any family in such need!

We knew it was getting close to saying goodbye to our girl Lucy. She had cancer and there was nothing we could do but love her and give her the best care we could. We contacted Dr Jeanette with Happy Earth Pet Hospice and she really came through for us. She helped us through this tough time and helped us say goodbye to our girl. She was knowledgeable and very caring to us all and treated our girl Lucy with love and respect. It was a tough time for us but she helped us through and took great care of us and our girl. If you find yourself at this crossroad please call her for help. She was great and I felt much better knowing my girl was in such good caring hands.
