About
Compassionate Support for Grieving Pet Owners Worldwide.
Founded and led by Nancy Curotto, PsyD
Pet Loss Psychotherapy, founded by Dr. Nancy Curotto, is a specialized telehealth practice devoted exclusively to helping individuals and couples cope with the profound grief that follows the loss of a beloved companion animal. Whether the loss is due to death, euthanasia, rehoming, or anticipatory grief, our services are designed to honor the human–animal bond and provide a safe, validating space to heal and grow around grief. Services offered include:
- Short-term individual and couples psychotherapy
- Evidence-based treatment approaches (EMDR, CBT, SFBT)
- Bilingual services (English and Spanish)
- Free monthly virtual support groups
- Resources and grief education for both the public and professionals
Dr. Nancy Curotto is a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois and Michigan and certified to practice across all Psypact-participating states. With over 25 years of clinical experience, she is a recognized expert in grief, trauma, and pet bereavement. She integrates trauma-informed care with heart-centered support, using EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindful practices.
Dr. Curotto is also a certified grief educator and bilingual provider (English/Spanish), committed to making pet loss support more accessible and culturally inclusive.
