KWD Wellness - Kristin Whiting-Davis, LCSW-C
About
As a therapist, lifelong pet parent, and someone who has experienced pet loss myself, I understand that the death of an animal companion is much more than losing a pet. It can mean saying goodbye to a beloved member of the family and learning to navigate daily life without their presence.
A particular focus of my practice is pet loss, anticipatory grief, and the emotional weight of end-of-life decisions. I support people who are grieving a beloved animal companion, preparing for a difficult goodbye, or struggling with guilt, uncertainty, or the changes that follow a loss. My approach is compassionate, practical, and respectful of the unique relationship each person shared with their pet.
I provide individual therapy for adults who are physically located in Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia. I also offer a virtual Pet Loss Support Circle, which may be available to individuals outside those areas depending on the group format and applicable requirements.
At KWD Wellness, I provide mindfulness-informed, trauma-informed therapy and professional support for adults navigating grief, workplace stress, ethical strain, burnout, and major life transitions.
I also partner with veterinary practices and animal-care professionals by offering consultation, reflective support, and workplace wellness programs addressing grief exposure, burnout, and moral distress.
