About
My name is Kara Matli, RVT, CHPT, PLGS, and I am the founder of Compassionate Transitions.
For over 15 years, I have worked in veterinary medicine, with the last several years focused on hospice, end-of-life care, and supporting families through one of the most difficult decisions they may ever face. Throughout my career, I have witnessed the incredible love people share with their animals and the profound grief that can accompany saying goodbye.
Compassionate Transitions was created from both professional experience and personal loss. Like many of the families I support, I have loved and lost cherished companions who shaped my life in immeasurable ways. Those experiences deepened my passion for helping others navigate anticipatory grief, quality-of-life concerns, end-of-life decisions, and life after loss.
Through virtual consultations and supportive guidance, I help pet parents feel less alone, more informed, and more confident as they honor the bond they share with their beloved companions. My goal is not to tell families what decisions to make, but to provide a compassionate space where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, options, and hopes for their pet's journey.
I believe every pet deserves a life filled with love and a goodbye guided by compassion. It is an honor to walk alongside families through love, loss, and remembrance.
