Hi, I’m Janell, the face and lens behind Just Janell Photography LLC dba Legacy Tails by Janell. Based in Dayton, Ohio area, my mission is simple: to capture the unique spirits, quirky personalities, and beautiful legacies of the animals who steal our hearts.
Pets aren't just a part of our world, they ARE our world. Whether they are a beloved senior pet who has walked beside you for a decade, a goofy pup who keeps you laughing, or a cherished rescue discovering what a safe home feels like, every animal has a story. I’m here to help you preserve it forever.
My Philosophy: Patience, Comfort, and Authenticity
If you've ever tried to get an animal to look at a lens and sit perfectly still, you know it rarely goes according to plan! That’s why my approach to photography is built entirely around patience, comfort, and zero pressure.
Meeting Them on Their Level: I don't force rigid, awkward poses. If an animal wants to zoom around, we capture their vibrant energy. If they prefer to lounge quietly, we capture their peace.
Honoring the Bond: The connection you share with your pet is entirely unique. My favorite photographs are the candid, unscripted moments that show the unspoken love, trust, and companionship between an animal and their human.
A Heart for All Creatures: From pampered indoor companions to the resilient community cats and rescue animals that hold a profoundly special place in my heart, I believe every animal's life deserves to be seen, celebrated, and honored.
