We offer high-altitude weather balloon memorials: a fully customizable ceremony in which cremated remains are placed inside a professional grade weather balloon and released into the stratosphere — into Near Space, nearly 100,000 feet above the earth — to be received by the sky and the winds.
Every Halo Goodbye is created to be personal and customizable. Families may include readings, music, prayer, poetry, spiritual elements, or a simple moment of silence. The ceremony is designed to honor the unique life being remembered, and we work closely with each family to make it as personally meaningful as possible.
At the heart of every ceremony is a powerful act: a chosen family member cuts the balloon string. This intentional moment of release — tangible, participatory, unrepeatable — creates something that passive memorial services simply cannot. Families carry it with them for the rest of their lives.
A common question: is this actually okay for the environment?
Yes. Our balloons are made from 100% natural latex — no PFAS, no petroleum additives, no artificial plastics. At stratospheric altitude, extreme cold and pressure cause the balloon to shatter into small fragments that fall back to Earth already degrading, completely degrading within 24-36 months, the same standard used by the National Weather Service. Halo Goodbye deeply understands and shares the concerns for our irreplaceable Earth home, and has consciously chosen our materials and processes with this in mind.
