Compassionate Creatures
About
Brenn Clark (she/her) has dedicated over a decade of learning and skill to animal health and husbandry, working with poultry, swine, companion animals, and pet guardians. With hands-on experience in clinical veterinary practice and research administration for animal-based science, Brenn is committed to advancing animal and human well-being through a One Health approach.
She earned her BSc in Animal Health from the University of Alberta in 2017 and completed an MSc in One Health from the University of Edinburgh in 2021. Now, Brenn is expanding her expertise by pursuing a Master of Social Work degree through the University of Calgary, Canada and looking for ways to integrate mental and psychological health support for animal caregivers into clinical veterinary medicine and laboratory animal research settings. Passionate about bridging the gap between animal care and human well-being, she is focused on creating sustainable, supportive environments for those working in animal health and husbandry.
In additional to working with clinical animal health teams, Brenn works to support pet guardians as they navigate difficult circumstances such as pet health events, anticipatory loss experiences, end-of-life decision making, and post-loss experiences.
Although Brenn is not officially a veterinary social worker, she applies learned counselling skills in her support and is supporting the human-animal bond through a veterinary social work lens.
